CHILDCARE

Childcare is available for chilldren ages 3-13. If your child is younger than 3, please contact us to figure out if we can accomodate you. Child care is free, however we do ask that if you are able please pay for your child(ren)'s lunch (or bring a lunch for them).

Accessibilty

Please tell us what your accessibility needs are. We will do our best to honor those. Our building is fully wheelchair accessible. We have accessible and all gender bathrooms on each floor. We have hearing assistive devices in the space where the keynote speaker and some workshops will be. There is sound amplification available in the other workshop rooms. We are asking attendees to not wear scents.

Keynote Dr. Robyn Henderson-Espinoza speaking on "What About No Binaries? A Case for Non-Binary Gender"

In a world that is over-categorized by binaries, I want to ask the question “what about no binaries?” In an effort to build the beloved community in generative ways, I think we need the case for non-binary orientations. This opens the doors up for abundance, instead of the scarce binary system and imagines a future full of multiplicity and difference.

Dr. Robyn Henderson-Espinoza who is a Transqueer Latinx activist scholar. Their dynamic and inspiring presentations explore the Intersections of queer justice and anti-racism, dismantling white supremacy and displacing whiteness, gender justice as human rights work, and bridging differences within our communities, campuses, and churches.

During the first workshop time, we will be offering a 12 step meeting. We are not including that in the workshop choice since that would break anonymity. If you are interested in the 12 step meeting you can either not register for anything in that time or register for another and then not attend it.

Morning Workshop (10:45 -12 noon) Promising Practices for Supporting Your Child through Transition - This workshop will help guide parents/families on how to be supportive of their loved one during transition and what the transition process might look like and tips on being a better ally Trans 101 This workshop is designed for the needs of people who are just starting out thinking about gender. Cis gender people will have an appropriate, non-intrusive way to ask questions. Presenter TBA Fireside chat with Robyn- this is a closed space for trans and non-binary people for an open-ended conversation Care and Trauma: Finding Healing In the Storm Presenter Rev. Sunshine Wolf

First Afternoon Workshops 1:15 - 2:30 Deconstructing Whiteness: Questions for White People to Ask Ourselves – We will explore the roots and current effects of whiteness on ourselves and others. While anyone is welcome to attend, this workshop is aimed at folks with white privilege. Parenting Trans Kids a Panel A panel of parents of trans youth as well as three trans youth will discuss their own journey and also issues that families with trans children often face. Facilitator Karen Fuller Trans Non Binary Spirituality group - This is a closed group for Trans and Non Binary folk centered around the question “How is it with your soul?” If that is a question that intrigues you then please think about attending. Facilitator Sky Williams-Tao. The Trans-ition into Aging We all eventually get older. Panel members will talk about their own unique struggles, challenges and successes. Hear their stories on navigating personal, social, and professional relationships. Facilitated by Rob Pusch

Second Afternoon Workshops 2:45 - 4 pm Transitioning through Time: A brief history of transgender and other gender non-conformity – Transgender people have existed throughout human history. We will explore instances of our existence from a historical perspective. Presenter Dionne Stallworth- “Loving the Hell out of the World” a De-escalation Workshop - This workshop will cover skills for understanding and responding to hatred, rudeness, and violence. Presenter Rev. Sunshine Wolf Deconstructing Cis-ness - We will explore what it means to be cisgender, how people/cultures encourage cis-ness and discourage ways of being outside cis-ness. All are welcome, though this is especially for cisgender people. Where Do We Go From Here - Hopefully this conference will have given its participants an opportunity to learn and to connect. But what now? Presenter: Rev. Evin Carvill-Ziemer will help participants find ways to take their learnings home.

We are committed to making sure that finances are not a barrier to you coming to this event. If you can pay full price that would be great, and if full price is a bit more than your budget can handle, pay what you can.

• are an unpaid community organizer

• are a returning citizen who has been denied work due to incarceration history

• travel recreationally

• have access to family money and resources in times of need

• work part time by choice

• have a relatively high degree of earning power due to level of education (or gender and racial privilege, class background, etc.) Even if you are not currently exercising your earning power, we ask you to recognize this as a choice.

The sliding scale is intended to be a map, inviting each of us to take inventory of our financial resources and look deeper at our levels of privilege. It is a way to challenge the classist and capitalist society we live in and work towards economic justice on a local level. While we ask you to take these factors into consideration, please don’t stress about it. Pay what feels right.
